METHANOL BASE – DESCRIPTION

Location

Methanol Base of Alfa Terminal Szczecin is located in Szczecin Seaport, at the mouth of the river Odra about 57,6 km from the open Baltic Sea. GPS Position : E 14o 37′ 15”, N 53o 29′ 47”.

Facility and equipment

Two methanol storage tanks with capacity V= 2 x 14 250 m³ = 28 500 m³ ( 22 600 tons ) equipped with radar measurement system.

Tankers’ discharging station at KRA-1 quay, equipped with two marine loading arms EMCO WHEATON, DN 200, B0030 type with max. flow rate 2 x 950 m³ per hour.

Rail cisterns loading station, equipped with two bottom loading arms DN 100, EMCO WHEATON and automatic mass-flow controlling system EMERSON. The site efficiency: 20 tank wagons (1 100 mt) per shift ( 8 hours).

Trucks loading station, equipped with one bottom loading arm DN 100 EMCO WHEATON and automatic mass-flow controlling system EMERSON. The site efficiency: 11 tank trucks ( 260 mt ) per shift ( 8 hours)

Technological installation equipped with vapor return lines, detonation flame arrester and remote control system.

Standing firefighting installation water – foam with control system to protect of base.

2 rail ways to loading station with total length of 600 m.

Dynamic-static rail weight-bridge with max weight capacity per 1 wagon up to 100 t.

Static truck weight-bridge with max lift up to 60 tons, length 18m.

Parking for 10 truck-cisterns.
